Shopping with Kids...

in November. Phew. It's a lot.

My kids are 5 and 9 and the magic of Christmas swirls around them this time of year. The anticipation, the list-making, the wants versus needs discussions (that mom and dad force!). We try and counter all of the wants by taking some time to go through toys and pass on items that are ready for a new home. I like to think it's a double-duty activity: teaching my kids the art of giving while also the art of de-cluttering. Really, it's by November that I'm overwhelmed with stuff.

But, one thing they know for sure, is that the process of sorting and passing on, means making room for new things!

We can't go to a store now without needing to take a picture of something to send to save for Santa (or Gigi - my mom!).

I had plans for fancy gift guides this holiday season, but I'm still learning the technology and how to simplify things for you (thanks for staying on the journey with me!). So, in the interest of time and cuteness, I will share their latest trip to Target and Costco as gift ideas, and I'll link either the exact item or as close as I can find to help you with your shopping! I'd also like to point out that Brian (the reason for @donttellbrian) might not win any awards for Instagram husband photographer, but he is a good sport!

I'm also on the hunt for some gender-neutral and creative items that the kids can share and that won't destroy my house (no no no to play-doh, glitter, slime and acrylic paint). Send ideas my way!

COSTCO (will add a second link if I can find something similar at a non-membership store!)
